Dover man, teen arrested on drug, firearm charges

DOVER — A 19-year-old and 17-year-old, both from Dover, were arrested on drug and firearm charges Wednesday evening, police say.

Officers with the Dover Police Department witnessed Deontray Watson enter a residence in the 100 Block of Willis Road, a news release states. Mr. Watson was wanted on a violation of probation.

Officers contacted Mr. Watson at the residence and took him into custody in addition to the 17-year-old male. A search warrant was then executed on the apartment where a 9mm handgun with an extended magazine and 56.6 grams of marijuana were located, the release states.

Mr. Watson was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $62,525 cash bond on multiple charges (in addition to the violation of probation).

Mr. Watson was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of firearm/ammo by person prohibited, conspiracy second degree, illegal gang participation, tampering with physical evidence and possession with intent to deliver marijuana.

The 17-year-old male was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of firearm/ammo by person prohibited, conspiracy second degree, tampering with physical evidence and possession with intent to deliver marijuana.
