Dover man injured in shooting

DOVER — A 19-year-old man was injured in a shooting on Saturday night, according to Dover police.

A report said that officers responded to a report of shots fired at the Unit Block of Willis Road, where they observed around 40 people gathered in the roadway. Officers said that shell casings were located but no victims were present.

Police said that later they were notified of a 19-year-old man was dropped off at the Bayhealth Emergency Room with gunshots in his hand and thigh. ​​The victim told detectives that he was shot by an unknown person in the area of South Little Creek Road and Barrister Place, but officers did not find any evidence there suggesting the incident occurred at that location.
