DOVER - Quentin Parker, 40, of Dover was arrested following a lewdness investigation late Monday, authorities said.

The investigation began, spokesman Master Cpl. Ryan Schmid said, when an officer on patrol observed Mr. Parker urinating outside of a vehicle in the parking lot of Magic Seven at 449 S. New Street at 10:58 p.m.

The officer contacted Mr. Parker, who police said then got back into his vehicle. The officer detected an odor of marijuana coming from inside of the vehicle and Mr. Parker was taken into custody without incident, police said.

A vehicle search located a loaded 9mm handgun concealed in the rear of the vehicle and 24.6 grams of marijuana, police said.

Mr. Parker was charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited (two counts), possession of a firearm under the influence, lewdness, possession of marijuana, and drinking while driving. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $9,150 secured bond.
