Dover man arrested after traffic stop

SMYRNA - Michael Bauer, 36, of Dover, was arrested for firearm and other charges following a Sunday morning traffic stop.

According to Delaware State Police, Mr. Bauer driving a vehicle at a high rate of speed at approximately 1:48 a.m. when pulled over by a trooper on South Carter Road.

Troopers found that Mr. Bauer was in possession of a firearm, police said. He was then taken into custody without incident.

A search of Mr. Bauer was located a loaded 9-millimeter untraceable handgun and approximately 10.42 grams of marijuana.

Mr. Bauer was charged with possession charges including untraceable firearm, firearm by person prohibited, and marijuana, carrying a concealed deadly weapon and numerous traffic offenses, according to authorities..

Mr. Bauer was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7 and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $40,007 secured bond.
