Dover home invasion under investigation

DOVER — A Wednesday burglary at a McKee Road home is being investigated.

At approximately 12:30 a.m., Dover police said, officers were called to the scene and contacted a 53-year-old male, who advised that he heard glass break at the rear of his residence.

The man was unable to get up quickly due to a medical condition, but his wife checked on the noise and was confronted by two Black males with handguns, spokesman Sgt. Mark Hoffman said.

The male victim turned over an undisclosed amount of cash, and the suspects fled, he added.

Police asked anyone with information to call 302-736-7130. Callers may remain anonymous. Tips may also be submitted via Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333 or here; a cash reward is possible for information leading to an arrest.
