DOVER — Dover High School’s Black Communities on Campus club has changed the location for its Juneteenth Freedom Day Festival that will take place on Monday from noon until 4 p.m.

The event was previously going to take place at Legislative Mall in Dover. However, it will now take place at Dover High School at 1 Dover High Drive in West Dover.

The Juneteenth Freedom Day Festival will be an inclusive and family-friendly event that is free to attend.

The celebration will open with introductions, a brief lecture on the history of Juneteenth and a keynote address from US. Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester, D-Del.

Attendees will get the chance to explore the wares of nearly 40 Black-owned Delaware businesses who have signed up to attend as vendors, including food trucks.

There also will be field activities, games and bouncy houses.

Dover High students will be playing jazz music, dancing and performing spoken-word poetry. The performances will begin at 3.
