Deer hunter survey

During the Maryland Wildlife Advisory Commission's February meeting, researchers from Morgan State University were invited to present their findings from a recent sika deer hunter survey they conducted. Survey results summarize the unique perspectives of sika deer hunters on current management practices, potential management scenarios, and the cost associated with hunting sika deer in Maryland.

Among other findings, the survey revealed that many hunters were in favor of changes to the sika deer bag limit, supported some form of antler restrictions, and were willing to pay higher fees to hunt sika deer. For more information, visit dnr.maryland.gov.
