Heroin, Fentanyl, cocaine

On Oct. 11, deputies from the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office executed a search and seizure warrant at 613 School House Lane, Apartment 3, Cambridge.

The search conducted in relation to the warrant resulted in the seizure of 713 grams of a heroin/Fentanyl mix, 14 grams of crack cocaine, 14 grams of marijuana, 42 Suboxone strips and $8,314 in cash.

The suspect in the case, a 36-year-old resident of that address, was located in the apartment and arrested.

Jerel LaParis Stubbs received 15 controlled dangerous substances charges. He was released by a district court commissioner.

Stabbing/first-degree assault

On Oct. 14 at approximately 1:11 a.m., Cambridge Police Department officers responded to the 700 block of Race Street in reference to a stabbing. Upon officers’ arrival, they were able to locate the female victim.

The female victim was found to have been stabbed in her back. Dorchester County EMS responded to the scene to render aid for the victim, who was transported to Tidal Health Peninsula Regional Hospital in Salisbury.

Information was relayed to responding officers by the victim that she was talking on the phone when an unknown female approached, stabbed her in the back and then left the area on foot. A description of the female suspect was provided as being a white female with descriptive clothing.

Other CPD officers canvassed the area and were able to quickly locate a female subject matching the description.

Other officers conducted a search of the travel path from the incident location to where the suspect was located. They were able to recover a discarded large knife in a trash receptacle that appeared to have blood on it.

The suspect was transported to the Cambridge Police Department for further investigation. Candy Michelle Vigneri was charged with assault first degree, assault second degree, reckless endangerment, alter physical evidence and obstructing and hindering.

She had her initial appearance before a court commissioner, then was turned over to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections on no bond.

Burglary

On Oct. 12, Cambridge police responded to a residence in the 400 block of High Street for a reported burglary. The victim said the home she had just purchased had been vandalized and a subject had been observed going in and out of the residence.

Officers conducted a check of the residence, where nobody was located, but found evidence that a subject had been inside. A witness in the area advised that a male subject had been seen in the home several times. Currently there are no known suspect(s).

Loaded handgun on person

On Oct. 7, Cambridge Police Department detectives located Zakee Rasheed Camper Jr. in the 100 block of Audubon Court. Camper had an active circuit court arrest warrant. He was transported to the Cambridge Police Department where the warrant was served. He was turned over to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections on no bond.

Camper was charged with the following: loaded handgun on person; handgun on person; loaded handgun in vehicle; handgun in vehicle; and regulated firearm illegal possession.

Armed robbery

On Oct. 7 at approximately 10:51 p.m., officers from the Cambridge Police Department responded to the Sailwinds Gas Station at 511 Maryland Ave. for an armed robbery. Upon officers’ arrival, contact was made with a store clerk, who was not injured.

The suspect was described as a white male wearing a black ski mask, black jacket, brown pants and black shoes, who had entered the store, produced a brown handgun and demanded money from the clerk.

The suspect then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash toward the rear alley behind the store heading toward Dorchester Avenue. An allied agency’s K9 Unit was contacted to attempt a K9 track, which ended on Henry Street.

Cambridge Police Department Detectives are continuing an investigation into this incident. Anyone who has information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Cambridge Police Department Criminal Investigative Division at 410-228-3333.

Warrant service

On Oct. 11, Cambridge police located a subject in the 600 block of Robbins Street who had an active warrant. The man was arrested and transported to the Cambridge Police Department.

Dontie Antoine Haigler was served with a district court bench warrant for violation of probation for failure to appear on Dec. 1, 2021, on the original charge of prostitution. 

He was also served with a district court bench warrant for violation of probation for failure to appear on Dec. 1, 2021, on the original charge of driving while intoxicated.   

Haigler had an initial appearance before a court commissioner and was turned over to the Dorchester County Detention Center on no bond.

Firearms theft

On Oct. 11, detectives from the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 38-year-old Oxford man in connection with a burglary and theft of over $9,500 worth of firearms from 150 Main St., Secretary.

Sewell Lecompte Frey was charged with a total of five charges of burglary and theft and incarcerated without bond.

Chief Todd honored

Chief Justin Todd was one of several special guests last week at the 3C USA Delmar Campus, where he was recognized for his efforts and impact on the community he serves.
