Assault

On Jan. 3, at approximately 5:49 p.m., Cambridge Police Department officers met with a 24-year-old Easton woman who had an active arrest warrant.

Charges stem from an incident that occurred on Dec. 31, 2022, in which it was alleged that the woman assaulted another individual in the 200 block of Meteor Avenue. The victim in the assault filed for charges with the court commissioner, who issued an arrest warrant.

She was arrested and processed at CPD. She had her initial appearance before a court commissioner and was released on her personal recognizance. Orissa Thomas was charged with assault second degree.

Assault

On Jan. 8, at approximately 5:55 p.m., CPD officers located and arrested a 44-year-old Cambridge man in the 400 block of Muir Street who had an active arrest warrant.

Charges stem from an altercation with another subject on Jan. 28, 2020, at approximately 11:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Muir Street. CPD officers responded to the location for a disturbance. Contact was made with the reporting party who claimed they had been assaulted by Bradwell. The reporting party claimed that Bradwell had punched them, then dragged them to the ground and started to strangle them using both hands.

During the incident, the reporting party did have signs of injury that were consistent with what was being claimed. CPD officers applied for charges with the court commissioner where an arrest warrant was issued.

The suspect had his initial appearance before a court commissioner and was released on $2,500 unsecured bond. Willie James Bradwell was charged with assault second degree and reckless endangerment.

Theft

On Jan. 9, at approximately 8:40 p.m., CPD officers responded to Walmart in reference to a theft. Contact was made with Asset Protection Officers who had observed a 33-year-old Cambridge man take items from the store without paying for them. The total value of the items was $175.39.

Mervin Burdette Henry Jr. was issued a criminal citation and released on his signature. He was charged with theft $100 to under $1,500.

Child support

On Jan. 9, at approximately 9:40 p.m., CPD officers picked up a 31-year-old Cambridge man at the Talbot County Detention Center. The man had an active Dorchester County Circuit Court body attachment for failure to appear for child support hearings on Aug. 24, 2021. Tyrone Keenan Adams was turned over to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections on no bond.

Obstructing and hindering

On Jan. 9, at approximately 9:45 p.m., CPD officers served a criminal summons on a 31-year-old Cambridge man, who was released on his signature of the summons.

Charges stem from an incident that occurred on Jan. 2, at approximately 6:50 a.m. in the 700 block of Moores Avenue. CPD officers responded to the location in reference to a Shot Spotter Alert of gunfire, where they observed the suspect leaving the area on a scooter.

Shot Spotter is a network of acoustic sensors that can detect, locate and alert police to nearly all gunshot incidents.

When officers contacted him, he provided a false name to the officers due to his having outstanding warrants. Officers completed an application of charges with the Court Commissioner who issued a criminal summons.

Tyron Keenan Adams was charged with obstructing and hindering.

Crack cocaine

On Jan. 10, at approximately 11 a.m., CPD detectives with the assistance of the Easton Police Department/Talbot County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Team executed a search and seizure warrant for a residence in the 900 block of Camelia Street. The warrant was authorized by a Dorchester County Circuit Court judge.

The warrant was from an investigation into a Shot Spotter Alert that occurred on Jan. 8 at approximately 8:08 p.m. in the 900 block of Camelia Street. CPD detectives investigated the alert and with evidence obtained from closed circuit television in the same area, they were able to observe a subject discharge a firearm.

Based on the information obtained through the investigation, CPD detectives wrote the warrant for the residence and property relating to the incident. After the execution of the warrant, CPD officers and detectives continued their investigation. A search of the residence and vehicles on the property resulted in the seizure of:

  • quantity of crack cocaine
  • suspected ecstasy pills
  • related CDS paraphernalia
  • United States currency

A 33-year-old man was arrested, who was found to possess more crack cocaine on his person after being arrested. He was transported to CPD for processing, had his initial appearance before a court commissioner and was turned over to the Dorchester County Detention Center on no bond. Chavonne Corbin-Stanley was charged with the following:

  • CDS possession with intent to distribute narcotic
  • CDS possession not cannabis
  • CDS possession paraphernalia

Corbin-Stanley was also found to have two bench warrants for his arrest for failure to appear in court. Both warrants were served on Corbin-Stanley. Addition charges may be pending through further investigation and laboratory results of the suspected ecstasy pills.

Assault

On Jan. 11, at approximately 7:49 a.m., CPD officers responded to the 600 block of Moores Avenue for a disturbance. Officers contacted the victim, who reported an assault by a 20-year-old Cambridge woman. The victim did have signs of injury consistent with how the assault was described, police said. Laura Elize Williams was arrested and transported to CPD for processing. She had her initial appearance before a court commissioner and was turned over to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections on no bond. Williams was charged with assault second degree.

DUI

On Jan. 11, at approximately 11:47 p.m., CPD officers conducted a traffic stop around Church Creek Road and Chesapeake Drive for multiple traffic violations. Officers contacted the driver of the vehicle, a 33-year-old Cambridge woman.

While contacting the woman, officers observed indicators that she may be under the influence. Officers administered a standardized field sobriety test, which was not successfully passed.

She was placed under arrest and transported to CPD for processing and further investigation where she submitted to a breath test, which showed a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit. She was issued traffic citations and transported to her residence and released. Manicka Pete was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and driving while under the influence of alcohol per se.

Armed robbery

On Jan. 12, at approximately 4:38 p.m., CPD officers responded to the 600 block of High Street for a reported armed robbery that had just occurred. Officers contacted the victim who stated that he was robbed near the graveyard by Bethel Street and Schoolhouse Lane. The victim stated that he had been walking home from the store when he was approached by three subjects on foot who were all dressed in black clothing and ski masks.

The victim described two of the suspects being Caucasian and the third subject being African American. The victim said when the subjects demanded his money, one pulled up his shirt and a handgun was observed.

The suspects then went through the victim’s property, stealing the items that he had just purchased. The victim then ran from the area.

While officers were talking with the victim, a witness informed officers that the suspects tend to congregate around Pine Street and Washington Street across from the store. CPD officers responded to that area and, as they arrived, they observed a subject matching the description of one of the suspects, who quickly ran into a residence in the 700 block of Pine Street.

Officers converged on the location with the assistance of CPD’s K9 Unit. The suspect emerged and was detained. Further investigation showed that the subject, a 15-year-old Cambridge juvenile, was involved in the robbery.

The juvenile was transported to CPD for processing. While at CPD, contact was made with the Department of Juvenile Services. DJS authorized the further detention of the juvenile.

The suspect was turned over to the DJS Lower Shore Juvenile Correction Facility. The juvenile is being charged with the following:

  • armed robbery
  • robbery
  • assault first degree
  • assault second degree
  • reckless endangerment
  • handgun on person
  • dangerous weapon intent to injure
  • firearm use/felony violent crime
  • conspiracy firearm use/felony violent crime
  • conspiracy dangerous weapon intent to injure
  • conspiracy robbery
  • conspiracy armed robbery
  • conspiracy assault first degree
  • conspiracy assault second degree
  • conspiracy reckless endangerment
  • conspiracy wear and carry handgun on person

This investigation is still on-going and further arrests and charges may be pending. The victim was not injured during the incident.

CDS violation

On Jan. 12, at approximately 8:25 p.m., CPD officers responded a residence in the 100 block of Washington Street for a welfare check. Contact was made with the subject, who was exhibiting signs of CDS usage. Evidence of used CDS paraphernalia was located at the residence.

Jesse Bolles, 29, of Cambridge, was issued a criminal citation. Bolles was charged with CDS possession paraphernalia.

Shooting

On Jan. 12, at approximately 11:32 p.m., CPD officers received a Shot Spotter Alert in the 700 block of Rosemont Avenue, where five shots were fired. Officers on patrol heard the gunshots. Upon officers’ arrival in the area, they were able to determine that a residence in the 700 block of Rosemont Avenue had been struck by multiple rounds of gunfire causing damage to the siding and a front window.

The residence at the time was occupied by five individuals. None of the occupants were injured.

Officers were able to recover a projectile from inside of the residence and from the siding. They also located several spent shell casings in the area.

Currently the suspect is unknown. This investigation is still ongoing. The Cambridge Police Department is requesting assistance from the community to contact the CPD if they may have any information on who was involved.

Warrant arrest

On Jan. 10, deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff's Office arrested a 26-year-old Cambridge man. On Dec. 13, 2022, the Circuit Court for Talbot County issued an arrest warrant charging him with violation of pretrial release conditions on the original charge of handgun in vehicle.

Quantez D’Lane Harris was transported to the Talbot County Central Booking facility for processing and was ordered held pending a hearing with the Circuit Court judge.
