What uniquely qualifies you for this office?

I have spent over 13 years of public service working for Sussex County government as a project manager and supervisor. My experience and expertise is vast and diverse, ranging from creating a digital mapping system, integration into a geographic information system, revolutionizing the PC computer system and networking of the entire computer infrastructure as it evolved from paper to automated computer systems. I am fully aware of the inner workings of government, including budgeting, procurement, disbursement, implementation and cost controls to training and ensuring government is utilizing the best and most cost-effective processes and equipment available. I personally designed and implemented the road-naming and rural-readdressing system of the county. My department was under the supervision of the Division of Assessment, giving me an in-depth understanding and active participation in the process of assessments of properties.

What are the top three issues for this office in your view?

Ensuring a seamless and equality-based reassessment of the county properties. This project will come to completion during the next term of this office. Environment: responsible development and planning. An ongoing function of maintaining quality of life in the county. These important factors should be considered in any development proposal and approval. Economic development: attracting and keeping good wage and employment opportunities for the county.

What would be your top priority if elected?

Working with all fellow commissioners to continue to make Kent County Delaware’s hub and support the continued development of recreational facilities and the furtherance of renewable energy for Kent County residents. Addressing the constantly growing needs of infrastructure development and first responders’ funding.

If you could change one county policy or law, what would it be?

Strengthen the rules for voting on issues where direct conflict of interest is involved. Including special-interest groups and organizations that directly benefit from taxpayer funds.
