Posted

REHOBOTH BEACH — The Delaware Department of Transportation and Delaware State Police are providing additional bicycle safety checkpoints through the summer.

DelDOT offered free safety equipment and repairs at checkpoints June 24 and July 1.

Additional checkpoints will be held Thursday and July 22, July 29 and Aug. 3, all from 4-7 p.m.

Checkpoints will be located on Del. 1 southbound at the Nike Outlet and on Del. 1 northbound at the Royal Farms on Holland Glade Road.

The events are free and will include basic bike repairs, tire pressure checks and seat and/or handlebar adjustments.

Mechanics will be on hand to perform major repairs, if necessary, and to install bike lights for those who need them. Helmets will also be available. Repairs, lights and helmets are free of charge.
