Delaware's Dental Care Access Task Force to meet Wednesday

NEW CASTLE—The Dental Care Access Task Force will reconvene for the committee’s third meeting on Oct. 12 at 6 p.m.

The meeting will take in a hybrid format; an in-person meeting will be held at Buena Vista in New Castle and streamed online, which can be found by visiting the Delaware General Assembly’s website at legis.delaware.gov.

Aside from housekeeping items like opening remarks and confirmation of the previous meeting minutes, the agenda for the Dental Care Access Task Force’s upcoming meeting includes presentations about dental scope of practice and dental provider types with a group discussion following the presentations.

The task force was created under Senate Bill 277, which was prime sponsored by Sen. Sarah McBride, D-Wilmington, and received bipartisan co-sponsorship from several members of the General Assembly. The bill aimed to expand access to dental care for individuals in underserved communities and was signed into effect by Gov. John Carney on Aug. 30.
