The Delaware Department of Education announced Wednesday the launch of a study into the state’s public education funding system.
The department has contracted the American Institutes for Research to analyze policy and make recommendations for improvements, focusing on equity for all students. The research group has previously developed state-specific cost models for public education in Vermont and the New Hampshire Commission to Study School Funding, and has evaluated and advised school finance systems in 16 states.
The study will include a comprehensive analysis of funding, comparisons with other states and stakeholder feedback, all compiled into a final report in November 2023.
