DOVER - The Delaware Office of Highway Safety will host three public forums to collaborate with Delawareans to help plan future safety initiatives, reduce crashes, and prevent fatalities, a growing concern in the First State.

In 2022, traffic fatalities in Delaware reached a new record, with 165 lives lost on state roadways, according to an Office of Highway Safety press release.

Forums will be held each county, beginning in Sussex County, Tuesday, Sept. 19 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Georgetown Public Library, 123 W. Pine St., Georgetown. This forum will be in English and Spanish.

The Kent County forum will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Modern Maturity Center, 1121 Forrest Ave., Dover. The forum in New Castle County is Wednesday, Sept. 27, 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Route 9 Library & Innovation Center, 3022 New Castle Ave., New Castle.

By addressing crucial topics such as impaired driving, pedestrian safety, and speeding, plus many other areas of concern, OHS seeks to collect feedback from the community to ensure that their future initiatives are engaging, relevant, and motivational.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend one of the upcoming public forums in person or virtually to share observations, listen, and engage in conversations with the OHS team to support them on their path to keeping Delaware roads safe.

Visit SaferRoadsDE.com for additional details on the forum and registration information.
