Del. Heritage Commission to host oral history workshop

Posted

DOVER — The Delaware Heritage Commission will hold a workshop about oral history at 6:30 p.m. June 13 at the Dover Public Library, 35 Loockerman Plaza.

Included in the event will be information about ways to prepare for oral interviews, documentation that should be maintained, questions to include and what type of technology is available for recording and transcribing.

Oral histories have become a popular way to preserve memories of individuals, events, traditions and specific eras.

The workshop in Dover will be the first of a series around the state in 2023. Plans call for two more in New Castle County and two in Sussex County.

For information, contact Dick Carter, chair of the commission, at dick.carter@delaware.gov or 302-744-4155.
