NEWARK — The Delaware football program continues to add new opponents to its future schedules.
UD announced today that it will play Coastal Carolina in a home-and-home series.
The two teams will face each other in Newark on Sept. 3, 2026, at Delaware Stadium and in Conway, S.C. on Sept. 22, 2029.
The 2026 matchup will be Delaware’s season opener and it will be the second non-conference FBS opponent to play at Delaware Stadium following a ‘25 matchup with UConn.
It is the second game currently on the ‘26 schedule as the Blue Hens will also travel to Virginia for a contest later in September.
Delaware has never faced Coastal Carolina before. The Chanticleers have been an FBS program since 2017.
A year ago, the Chanticleers finished 8-5 and defeated San Jose State 24-14 in the EasyPost Hawai’i Bowl. Since its move to FBS, Coastal Carolina is 52-35 and has appeared in a bowl game in four-straight seasons.
UD is in the process of moving up to the NCAA Division I FBS level and will begin playing in Conference USA in 2025.
