Delaware Division of Public Health to open COVID-19 vaccine clinics for 12 and older

WILMINGTON — The Delaware Division of Public Health has opened four standalone COVID-19 vaccination clinics this week, including those for the newly eligible 12-and-older age group starting Tuesday.

The DPH said these sites will serve as an option for people to be vaccinated with or without appointments for the next several months.

The new sites are the Blue Hen Corporate Center in Dover (655 S. Bay Road, Suite 1A), the Georgetown Plaza (19 Georgetown Plaza), the Oxford Plaza in Newark (256 Chapman Road, Suite 100) and Canby Park in Wilmington (1946 Maryland Ave.).

Appointments can be made at these four new clinics, as well as at Public Health clinics in state service centers, by calling (833) 643-1715. They will handle walk-in traffic, as well.

The DPH’s clinics at state service centers are the Winder Laird Porter State Service Center in Wilmington, the James W. Williams State Service Center in Dover, the Milford Riverwalk State Service Center, the Thurman Adams State Service Center in Georgetown and the Anna C. Shipley State Service Center in Seaford.

All nine clinics use the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine and can immediately begin administering to those 12 and older, after approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Monday. Written parental consent is required to vaccinate individuals younger than 18; however, the parent is not required to be on-site with the child during the vaccination.

Walk-in hours are weekdays from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 1:15-4 p.m.

“As we look to increase our vaccinated population, especially to reach young people who will be going back to college and school at the end of summer, these new vaccination-only clinics have the capacity to administer thousands of vaccines a week,” DPH Director Dr. Karyl Rattay said in a statement. “These standing vaccination clinics, along with our public health clinics at state service centers, Curative sites, medical providers, pharmacies and community events will all be a part of increasing Delawareans’ protection against COVID-19 substantially in the next several months.”
