What made you start your business?

What made me start my business is the desire for a better quality of life and to establish a legacy.

What is a typical day for you?

A typical day for me starts at 6 a.m. with strategy talks with Mr. Adams, followed by meetings midmorning to afternoon. Then, to the office I go to conquer any obstacles that may occur.

How do you motivate yourself and stay motivated?

My family and employees keep me motivated. Not only is this company a legacy for my family, but I account myself for the employees’ families, as well. I stay motivated with the understanding there are many people relying on me.

What is the most important business lesson you’ve learned during the COVID-19 pandemic?

The most important lesson I’ve learned during COVID-19 is the importance of putting your employees above your own financial needs. Also, the importance in being flexible to new methods of doing things in a hostile and volatile environment.

What is unique about the services you provide?

What is unique about the service we provide at Mountain is not only do we go beyond the client expectations, but we also form client relationships. It’s not just their project. It’s “ours.”

Describe a major business or personal challenge you had and how you overcame it.

A business challenge I had to overcome would have to be understanding that as an owner of a company you cannot and will not satisfy all your employees. I overcame this by understanding and accepting it.

What three things help shape your life?

God, family and humbleness are the three things that helped me shape my life.

What piece of advice would you give other women in small businesses?

For all the women of a small business, I would say to them prayer and patience are the key. Dreams are not made overnight but with the consistency of prayer and the time of patience.

I found the professional mixers to be resourceful with networking of my company.
