DOVER – The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Col. John Haslet Chapter of Dover, recently honored its Organizing Regent Elizabeth King Anderson by holding a grave marking ceremony at Lakeside Cemetery in Dover.

The chapter was organized on Jan. 14, 1897, by Regent Anderson and 11 founding members. She served as regent from 1897 to 1906, and in 1915, and was named “Honorary Chapter Regent for Life” for her service and commitment to the chapter and its historical and educational initiatives.

Regent Anderson was the 2nd great-granddaughter of John Hart of Hopewell, New Jersey, who signed the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
