SALISBURY — The date for the Salisbury Jaycees Christmas parade has been announced.
The 78th Annual Salisbury Christmas Parade, presented by Mountaire Farms and hosted by the Salisbury Jaycees, will be held Sunday, Dec. 8. The rain date is Sunday, Dec. 15.
In partnership with the City of Salisbury, the parade will continue along its usual route ending at City Park on East Main Street. The parade will begin at 1 p.m. at the corner of Civic Avenue and Mt. Hermon Road and continue to East Main Street.
The Jaycees have announced that WBOC’s Jimmy Hoppa is this year’s Christmas Parade Grand Marshal. Known for his on-air coverage of local events and co-hosting role on DelmarvaLife, Hoppa also serves as a firefighter and chaplain for the Laurel Fire Department and as a volunteer chaplain at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital.
Entries are still being accepted until Nov. 30. For applications and more information visit the Salisbury Jaycees’ Facebook page at www.facebook.com/salisburyjaycees. This year the Jaycees are also inviting past Jaycees members to walk with them in the Parade to capture the spirit of this year’s theme, “Retro Christmas”.
Email parade@salisburyjc.com for interest in participating or any other questions about the event.
