DART’s 27th annual “Stuff The Bus” Thanksgiving Food Drive begins Nov. 4, and DART is asking for the public’s help in reaching its goal of collecting 20,000 pounds of non-perishable items.

The donations assist the Food Bank of Delaware, through its 745 Hunger Relief Partners, in feeding those who suffer from food insecurity throughout the State.

Community events will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the following days:

  • Nov. 4 at Giant Food, 19312 Lighthouse Plaza, Rehoboth Beach
  • Nov. 5 at Target, 148 John Hunn Brown Road, Dover
  • Nov. 6 at ShopRite of First State Plaza, 1600 W. Newport Pike, Stanton
  • Nov. 7 at Wilmington’s Rodney Square (Market Street Side)
  • Nov. 8 at ShopRite of Brandywine Commons, 1300 Rocky Run Parkway, Wilmington
  • Nov. 9 at ShopRite of Four Seasons, 700 Plaza Drive, Newark

As part of the annual food drive, there will be live radio broadcasts:

  • Nov. 4 Delaware 105.9, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and The Vault 103.5 2 – 4 p.m.
  • Nov. 5 EAGLE 97.7 and The Chicken 101.3 all day
  • Nov. 6 WSTW 93.7, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Nov. 9 WSTW 93.7, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

DART also encourages the public to donate directly to the Food Bank of Delaware, if they are unable to visit any of the "Stuff The Bus" collection sites.

For more information on donating food, contact the Food Bank at 302-292-1305, or visit FBD.org.
