CAMDEN — Out of 80 competing teams from across the country, Team Delaware from Caesar Rodney High School earned first place in the culinary competition at the 2022 National ProStart Invitational on May 6-8.

The competition was hosted by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation in Washington, D.C., and the top five teams in culinary arts and restaurant management were awarded more than $200,000 in scholarships to support their future careers.

This is the first win for a Delaware team at the invitational level. The culinary team from Caesar Rodney took top honors at the state competition in 2019 and went on to place 15th at the national invitational.

It also won the 2020 state competition but were unable to compete at the national level after NPSI was canceled due to the pandemic.
