The Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce (CDCC) believes it is never too early to get in the spirit of giving, especially as we get closer to the end of the year and the holidays are right around the corner.

While we know the holidays can be a stressful and hectic time, they instill cheer, hope, love, and the spirit of giving for the special people in our lives. The CDCC hopes to relieve some of the holiday stress for their members by bringing potential gifts to you for everyone on your list. The CDCC’s Annual Holiday Gift Auction coming this Oct. 26, at Maple Dale Country Club from 5-7:30 p.m., will serve the community by offering an amazing array of valuable, donated items from our local businesses.

The CDCC is currently accepting donations for auction items for the 19th Annual Holiday Gift Auction - one of their biggest events of the year. Auctions are a fun and engaging way to connect the community, increase awareness of local businesses, and browse a large variety of unique items to please even the pickiest people on your list. The CDCC’s Holiday Gift Auction is the perfect event to take home unique, eye-catching, one-of-a-kind, gifts that you may not be able to buy anywhere else. Attendees can expect to see over 150 high-quality, useful, and thoughtful items on which to place their bids. Food, jewelry, clothing, vouchers, experiences, and more are all up for grabs. This is a direct way to support local businesses and your fellow chamber members, while enjoying a fun and inviting atmosphere.

By donating an item, coupon, or experience, you are inviting someone into your business. You are putting your best foot forward so that potential new customers, clients, and friends can enjoy your hard work, products, and services. By donating what you can as a business, you are increasing awareness of your business in the community and to your fellow chamber members. Join the CDCC in ringing in the holiday season and celebrating the businesses, people, and community here in the heart of the First State. Let’s show that central Delaware is the “heartbeat of business” as we unite for this fun event with a great cause.

This year, the CDCC is very excited and optimistic about their brand-new format of this event. The CDCC’s silent auction will be held totally online, facilitated by the mobile fundraising platform, Qgive and its Givi App. Stay tuned for more information on how to use this platform to bid on your favorite auction items. The online silent auction option will be open for one week, Oct. 14-21. Bidders will then come to Maple Dale Country Club on Oct. 26 to pick up their items. While they are there, the CDCC hopes they will stay to mix and mingle at the October Sunset Business Mixer occurring alongside the riveting LIVE auction. Again, this great event will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at Maple Dale Country Club in Dover from 5-7:30 p.m.

Keep your eyes and ears open for updates on this consistently well-revered event as we approach the fall. It is never too early to submit your donated items. If you are interested in getting your business’s name out there by donating, do not hesitate to call the CDCC office at 302-734-7513 or visit our website at www.cdcc.net/auction. The CDCC can’t wait to bring “The Beat of Business” to the heartbeat of the First State - Central Delaware.
