Carolyn J. Bradshaw, 78

Posted

Carolyn J. Bradshaw of Westover, MD, passed away peacefully in the early morning on June 13, 2025, at her beloved home on Kingston Lane, accompanied by family and the love and memories she cherished most.
Born on July 24, 1946, in the small town of Winona, West Virginia, Carolyn was the daughter of James A. Ramsey, a coal miner, and Vada M. (Petry) Ramsey, a caring homemaker to Carolyn and her brothers James and Donald and sisters, Gladys and Kathy Ramsey. Her early life in the mountains helped shape her enduring strength, humility, and deep appreciation for family.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother,  and friend, Carolyn lived a life filled with warmth, intelligence, and quiet courage. While raising her children, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Kennesaw State University—an achievement reflecting her drive and determination. She went on to serve as an IRS Field Agent, became a licensed CPA in Florida and Georgia, and later found joy in supporting Somerset’s tourism and welcoming guests alongside her husband through an Airbnb.
Carolyn shared 59 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Noah T. Bradshaw. Together, they built a home grounded in love, laughter, and adventure. She is lovingly remembered by their three children: Dr. Mark T. Bradshaw and his wife Kim of Lexington, MA; Scott A. Bradshaw and his wife Nancy of Milton, GA; Tammy B. Reagan and her husband Tim of Safety Harbor, FL She was a proud grandmother to Ben and Lucy Bradshaw of Lexington, MA; Nick Bradshaw (wife Ali) of Athens, GA; Tyler Bradshaw of Nashville, TN; Cooper Bradshaw of Milton, GA; and Noah Reagan of Safety Harbor, FL. Just before her passing, Carolyn was blessed with a special visit from her 10-month-old great-granddaughter, Cleo L. Bradshaw, of Athens, GA - triggering smiles and tears of joy.
Carolyn and Noah made their home in Westover and Crisfield for the past 21 years, after living in Georgia and Florida. She was a devoted member of Immanuel United Methodist Church and enjoyed working in Angels' Attic.
Carolyn is also lovingly remembered by her extended Maryland family, Cecil Shannon, Jack Bradshaw, Charles Bradshaw, and Karen Cullen, along with numerous nieces and nephews who brought her great joy over the years. She cherished family gatherings and always made space in her heart for those beyond her immediate family. Her warmth, kindness, and laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew her, near and far.
Carolyn found beauty in life’s little pleasures—sunsets over the water, the joy of crabbing, walks along the beach, the comfort of sewing, and the contentment of a cat curled at her feet. But her adventurous heart also took her to the skies—once floating in a hot air balloon with a dear friend, and another time parachuting from a plane with her daughter by her side. She lived with a fearless heart, always open to the next chapter, the next memory, the next laugh.
To know Carolyn was to know a beaming smile, a kind word, a quick wit, and a deep, enduring love. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, grace, and joy.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the compassionate caregivers Torie, Courtney, and Stephanie, whose kindness, attentiveness, and gentle presence brought comfort and dignity to Carolyn’s final days. They also wish to thank the exceptional hospice nurse team led by Mackenzie, whose skillful and tender care provided peace not only to Carolyn but to Noah. Their support was an unexpected blessing, and their dedication will never be forgotten.
A graveside celebration of Carolyn’s life was held on Tuesday, June 17  2025 at 11 AM at Sunnyridge Memorial Park. Rev. Jim Riley officiated.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to Immanuel United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, c/o Robert H. Bradshaw, Jr. 306 W. Main Street, Crisfield, MD 21817; Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802-1733; or a charity close to your heart. To send condolences, please visit www.bradshawandsonsfuneralhome.com
