GEORGETOWN – Remnants of Hurricane Ian red-flagged Saturday’s Camp Barnes Benefit Stock Car Race scheduled at Georgetown Speedway.

The postponement means the Camp Barnes event, a major fundraiser for the youth camp operated by Delaware State Police, will now take place on Thursday, Oct. 27 as a kick-off to the most lucrative weekend in Delaware dirt-track racing history - Melvin L. Joseph Memorial Mid-Atlantic Championship Weekend at the Sussex County half-mile oval.

The entire Camp Barnes program – headlined by $5,500-to-win events for the J.W. Brown Logging Modifieds (30 laps) and Super Late Models (25 laps) – will be contested on Oct. 27.

Also in competition: Blue Hen Dispose-All Crate 602 Sportsman (20 laps, $1,500 to win), First State Chevrolet RUSH Late Models (20 laps, $1,500 to win), Southern Delaware Vintage Stock Cars, Little Lincolns, Delaware Super Trucks and Delmarva Chargers.
