CAMBRIDGE – This year’s Cambridge-Dorchester County Christmas Parade went off without a hitch Saturday, after a rainy morning cleared up for the annual event. Crowds lined High, Poplar and Race streets to enjoy the show. The event featured not only school bands, fire companies and community groups, but also, for the first time, the Bowie State University Symphony of Soul marching band.
Places were:
High school band:
1) Snow Hill; 2) Mardela Springs; and 3) North Dorchester [Editor’s note: Cambridge-South Dorchester’s Marching Vikings performed, but did not compete. They were escorted by the Bowie State band.]
Individual band awards:
Best drum major, band front, percussion and overall went to Snow Hill.
