Bruce Kenneth Mosley-Morris, also known as "Little Drummer," passed away peacefully on Friday, March 7th at 4:07 PM. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and a proud member of the Nanticoke Lenni Lenape Tribe of New Jersey.
Born on May 3, 1952, to the late William Kenneth Mosley-Morris - also known as "Billy" and by his Native American name, Laughing Bear - and the late Smiles-Alot Leola Beatrics Mosley-Morris, Bruce Mosley-Morris carried forward the values and traditions of his heritage with grace and resilience. He worked for the state of Delaware, including the Capital School District, 1977 until 2010, retiring as a building maintenance mechanic, a career marked by dedication and service. After retiring, he worked part-time for Del Tech for 13 years from 2011 to 2024, further showcasing his commitment to his community. He was an avid supporter of Philadelphia sports -passionately cheering for the Eagles, Phillies, Sixers and more - and actively participated in Pow Wows across the states of New Jersey, Delaware, and others.
Bruce was a self-taught musician and played the drums for over 30 years in bands such as the Novells and his own band, The Starlighters.
Bruce was also deeply committed to volunteer service. He served as a mentor for HOSTS (Help One Student to Succeed), participated in the Polar Bear Plunge for 15 years, volunteered at UNITED Church and proudly served as an Assistant Scoutmaster for BSA Troop 632. In addition, he was a member of the Elks Lodge BPOE 1903 and devoted 25 years to volunteering at schools to educate community youth on Native American heritage. His unwavering volunteer service led him to receive The Governor’s Outstanding Volunteer Award.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Peggy Morris, "sister" Loretta Gourley and niece Yvonne Gourley. He is survived by his cherished and loving wife of 28 years, Trudean Morris ("Trudy"); his sons, Little Bruce Morris (Mary); Michael Davis (Erin); Andrew Davis (Katherine); Stanley Lepkowski (Pilar), and Robert Lepkowski (Kristi); his sisters, Janice "Jan" Durham (Tony), and Anita Wright (Robert "Bobby"), brother-in-law Dennis Gourley and his cherished grandchildren:
