Blackman: Candidates need ‘specific, peaceful plan’

Posted

Excellent Joe Smyth opinion piece today (“How would you fix America’s broken politics?”).

Now, for the tough part: how to make it happen. The big stumbling block seems to be, how can “we, the people” force the current lawmakers to pass legislation that will effectively remove them from the gravy train?

I’m looking, in vain so far, for candidates who articulate a specific, peaceful plan to accomplish these steps. Currently, all I see is motherhood, apple pie, puffery and vicious attacks on “the other guys.”

The top-level requirement is unlimited money and a team with detailed knowledge/experience in how government actually works today, as well as how it was intended/designed to work.
