MILTON — A 24-year-old Milford man was arrested after allegedly attempting to burglarize a Milton-area convenience store Wednesday, Delaware State Police spokeswoman Master Cpl. Heather Pepper said.
Troopers responded to a burglary alarm at the Shore Stop at 25776 Deep Branch Road at approximately 4:46 a.m. and found that the front door and large front window had been damaged, Cpl. Pepper said. No entry was made into the business, she said.
An investigation determined that Ryan P. Nay had allegedly used a concrete bumper, metal object and metal cannister in attempts to gain entry but was unsuccessful, Cpl. Pepper said.
Police said Mr. Nay was later taken into custody without incident. He was charged with possession of burglar tools, third-degree attempt to commit burglary, criminal mischief and wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution, Georgetown, on a $10,000 cash bond.
