Posted

Caesar Rodney High lacrosse player Patrick Craig was voted the State News Athlete of the Week. The sophomore attack helped lead the Riders to a pair of Henlopen North victories by netting 14 goals and 13 assists.

For the season, Craig had 39 goals and 50 assists for CR (8-5), which has won three games in a row.

“Patrick is an excellent leader for our program,” said Riders coach Brooks Johnson. “He holds himself to a high standard both on and off the field. He is a remarkable citizen in our community. His entire coaching staff could not be prouder of his development in his sophomore season as a player and as a young man.”

The Athlete of the Week is nominated and chosen by our readers. The nominating period starts at 2 p.m. on Friday and ends at noon on Monday. A voting period follows from 5 p.m. Monday through 5 p.m. Wednesday.
