Arrest made in Lewes attempted murder case

LEWES — An 18-year-old Maryland man has been arrested in connection with an attempted murder case in 2023, Delaware State Police.

Police said Lewis M. Cameron, of Hyattsville, was extradited to Delaware from Maryland on Friday after investigation into a shooting wounded a 29-year-old Millsboro.

Police said they responded to a residence in the 31000 block of Maple Court for a reported shooting. They found a man in front of the residence with multiple gunshot wounds. Mr. Cameron was identified as the suspect in the shooting, police said.

Mr. Cameron was charged with first-degree attempted murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $1,209,100 cash bond.
