UMES Hawks have nine representatives on MEAC All-Time Team for outdoor track

Five women, four men make the 50th anniversary team

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore had five women and four men make the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference’s All-Time Outdoor Track & Field teams. The squads are part of the conference’s 50th Anniversary celebration.

The women on the team are Cynthia Anais, Lenora Guion-Firmin, Vanessa Henry, Petra Kubesova and Marta Sterbova. The men on the team are Allodin Fothergill, Kimani Kirton, Khalil Rmidi Kinini and Dillon Simon.

The accomplishments of the Hawks are listed below.

Anais: 2012 MEAC Championship Outstanding Runner

Guion-Firmin: 2008 First Team All-American, 400 meters

Henry: MEAC’s best mark in shot put (16.48 meters, 2012)

Kubesova: 2013 MEAC Championship Outstanding Runner; MEAC’s best time in 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:32.96, 2013)

Sterbova: MEAC’s best time in 3,000 meters (10:22.80, 2001)

Fothergill: 2009 All-American, 400 meters.

Kirton: 2007 All-American, shot put; MEAC’s second-best mark in shot put (18.88 meters, 2007)

Rmidi Kinini: Three-time MEAC Championship Outstanding Runner (2015, 2016, 2017); MEAC’s second- and third-best times in 1,500 meters (3:46.70, 2017; 3:46.90, 2013); 5,000 meters (14:07.08, 2015; 14:10.37, 2017) and 3,000-meter steeplechase (8:46.62, 2017; 8:48.06, 2015)

Simon: Two-time MEAC Championship Outstanding Field Performer (2013, 2014); MEAC’s best mark (19.87 meters, 2015) and third-best mark (18.64 meters, 2014) in shot put; MEAC’s top two marks in discus (60.13 meters, 2015; 56.92 meters, 2014)
