Show your support for veterans through Operation Green Light

ANNAPOLIS — The Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs endorses participation in  Operation Green Light to show support for veterans by displaying and shining green light on homes and buildings from Nov. 7-13.

Promoted by the National Association of Counties and the National Association of County Veteran Service Officers also collaborating are the Maryland Association of Counties and Maryland Municipal League.

Local governments are asked to adopt proclamations, submit letters to the editor, and use social media to spread the word, using #OperationGreenLight.

Individuals and families can change out external light or replace an internal light with a green bulb to show their support.

For more information visit Operation Green Light at Operation Green Light for Veterans: County Toolkit (naco.org).  For those interested in purchasing a green spot light American Legion Post 94 in Princess Anne will have them available.

Post 94, located at 30782 West Post Office Road,  will also host a Veterans Day ceremony 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11 with a color guard and members of the Washington High School band in attendance.
