Former Wicomico County Executive Rick Pollitt, who was defeated for a third term in 2014, has resigned from his most-recent governmental post as Crisfield’s City Manager.
Pollitt had announced in February that he needed to step away from the post and take personal time; he later submitted his resignation in mid-March.
Crisfield Mayor Barry Dize said he accepted the resignation. The Somerset County city has not yet advertised the vacancy. Seven months after losing the Wicomico post he held for eight years to Bob Culver, Pollitt began as City Manager in June 2015. A resident of Allen, Pollitt was Wicomico’s first-ever County Executive and was the former Fruitland City Manager. His first job in government was working in the Somerset County Planning & Zoning Office.
