Millsboro man, 85, dies in collision at intersection
By MILLSBORO - An 85-year-old Millsboro man died in a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Indian Mission Road and Beaver Dam Road, Delaware State Police said.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:48 p.m. when the man drove a truck through the intersection and into the path of another vehicle. The man’s truck came to a rest on Indian Mission Road and the other vehicle came to rest in a heavily wooded area.
The Millsboro man was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. Identification of the victim is pending notification to the next of kin.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 35-year-old Lincoln man, sustained minor injuries but refused medical treatment at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved in this incident. The roadway was closed for approximately three hours while the collision was being investigated and cleared.
