NEW CARROLLTON — Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) Secretary Kenneth C. Holt has announced that $1.58 million in operating assistance grants have been awarded to 62 projects in 20 jurisdictions.
Among those receiving funding is Main Street Princess Anne, which will receive $15,000 for the manager salary and marketing. There are 33 Main Street organizations in the state and $400,000 in Main Street Improvement Grants were awarded to 22 programs in this round — ranging between $10,000 and $27,000.
Responding to the grant award Sen. Mary Beth Carozza said that these funds “ will go a long way in supporting local business owners.” In her district $27,000 is to support the Maryland Folk Festival in Salisbury, and $10,000 is going to Berlin for holiday décor and beautification.
