CRISFIELD — Janes Island State Park — already known for its annual hosting of First Day Walks on New Year’s Day — introduces the first “Hike that Turkey Off” nature walk 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26.
“Start a new tradition this year by spending the day after Thanksgiving outdoors at Janes Island State Park,” a parks spokesperson said. “Take in the sights and sounds of fall on a guided hike with a park ranger while burning off that extra slice of pumpkin pie.”
This is a one-hour, one-mile hike over easy, flat trails. Pets are welcomed and must remain on a leash at all times. Dress appropriately for the weather, bring water/snacks, and wear waterproof footwear. Meet at the Janes Island Park Store.
For more information, contact the park office at 410-968-1565. Ranger Christina Carlson said by email “We are working on Janes Island First Day Hike currently.” More details on that as the date nears.
