Former Hideaway Grill in Rumbley had soft opening over Memorial Day weekend

RUMBLEY — Goose Creek Pit & Pub will hold its ribbon cutting 2:30 p.m. Thursday, July 15 at 25763 Rumbley Road.

Formerly the Hideaway Grill, the restaurant had a soft opening over Memorial Day weekend and is the fourth Pit & Pub on the Lower Shore although incorporated separately. The others are in Salisbury and two are in Ocean City and each features smoked and barbeque style food with the Rumbley site also maintaining the beach/bay vibe.

Once a marina store with an off-sale license only, the former owners in 2007 began serving hot and cold food but required an on-sale alcoholic beverage license which they obtained so they could serve drinks to diners. That was the start of what became known as the Hideaway Grill was born.

This past April, SVN|Miller Commercial Real Estate agents Andy Ball and Allison Conick announced the sale of the property, with Austin Cox of Long & Foster representing the seller. Stephen Masten Jr. worked quickly to refresh the restaurant for its opening, had the liquor license transferred to his name, and has dock slips available for boaters as well.

The Somerset County Economic Development Commission and Somerset County Tourism are hosting the ribbon cutting. For more email dockside.pitnpub@gmail.com or call 410-651-1110.
