Felton woman charged with fraud, theft

FELTON - Shelly L. Thompson, 37, of Felton was arrested Tuesday on numerous fraud and theft related charges following an investigation, police said.

Felton Police Chief Christopher Guild said Ms. Thompson was caring for an elderly disabled man. Ms. Thompson allegedly took the man’s credit/debit card from his residence and made numerous withdrawals and purchases without permission in August totaling $494.57.

Ms. Thompson was charged with unlawful use of a payment card (six counts) and theft under $1,500 where the victim is 62 years of age or older (six counts).
Ms. Thompson was arraigned before Justice of the Peace Court and released on $12,000 unsecured bail.
