State Parks program to show how DAFB changed the landscape of Kent County
By Mike FinneyDOVER – October 2022 will mark the 60th anniversary of the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962.
As one of the major events of the Cold War, Delaware State Parks will be commemorating the event with a unique bus tour of the Dover area which will reveal how the fabric of Kent County was permanently changed by the growth of Dover Air Force Base during the Cold War.
On Saturday, Oct. 8, Delaware State Parks will conduct a bus tour from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. (approximately 90 minutes) that will be free to the public. Reservations are required because seating is extremely limited.
The program will begin in front of the Richardson and Robbins Building (DNREC) at 89 Kings Highway in Dover.
