CRISFIELD — A plan to establish a drive-thru window at Crisfield Pharmacy was approved by the City Council pending final adoption of a maintenance agreement regarding public property that will be disrupted.
It was in February 2016 when property owner Shah M. Yahya first proposed to place a drive-thru at his pharmacy located at 390 W. Main Street. Traffic will enter from Pine Street to a customer service window yet to be created under an awning attached the building, then exit onto Main Street.
There will be a curb separating the lane from the vacant lot next door, and bollards along with a stop sign installed as cars approach the sidewalk. The maintenance agreement to be worked out will address improvements on city property and rights-of-way. The drive-thru will require driveway aprons and will take out two street parking spaces along with a sign and trash can.
Mr. Sullivan said the disturbance is around 250 sq. ft. and he is working on the legal description, but title searches in this area are not easy.
Four off-street parking spaces will be created behind the building to compensate for the benefit of customers. Code Enforcer Dean Bozman said all of the drawings that were approved previously by the planning commission were unchanged.
