CRISFIELD — The community-wide yard and "yART" sale hosted by the Crisfield Arts and Entertainment District Project is 7 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 2. Yard sales and in particular sales of art both old and new are encouraged on this day.

To have your sale listed online visit CrisfieldArts.org. Some of the early participants include 201 N. First Street, 9 W. Main, 906 W. Main, 207 N. Somerset and WBYC 107.3 FM at 4 Seventh Street.

Near Crisfield in the Annemessex Ridge subdivision there will be sales at 5075 Old Auger Road or 4930 Thomas Long Road.

If you don’t have a yard or place for the sale the city parking lot downtown has space available. For more details call 443-397-8707 or email arts@crisfieldcityhall.com.

Also on Saturday from noon to 3 is the community cleanup with dumpsters placed at the following sites:

• Big Willey’s on Seventh Street;

• Wastewater treatment plant by the wind turbine;

• Food Lion parking lot;

• Crisfield High School; and

• Carvel Hall (4251 Crisfield Hwy.).

The following items are not to be placed in dumpsters: tires, chemicals including pesticides, batteries, paints or combustible liquids, computer monitors, electronics, televisions, air-conditioners, refrigerators, gas or oil. Refer to the number or email above for more information.

If you are a student who needs community service hours, or a resident that just wants to help out, meet at Big Willey's at noon.

This effort is made possible through a Keep Maryland Beautiful grant. The rain date is Sunday, Oct. 3
