American Pickers heading back to Maryland

They want to look through your antiques and collectibles

NEW YORK — The “American Pickers” are returning to Maryland and want to look through your stuff.

The producers at Cineflex USA television who oversee the hit TV show that airs on The History Channel want to hear from those who have large, private collections or accumulation of antiques that the pickers can spend the better part of a day looking through.

Along the way the pickers want to meet characters with remarkable and exceptional items. They hope to give historically significant objects a new lease on life while learning a thing or two about America’s past along the way.

“American Pickers” is a documentary series that explores the fascinating world of antique “picking” as hunters look for America’s most valuable collectibles.

“They are always excited to find sizeable, unique collections and learn the interesting stories behind them,” a spokesperson for the show stated.

It was in August 2015 when two pickers, Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz, went through the former Burgess Early Americana Museum at Hudson Corner for an episode that first aired in February 2016. That property was recently sold by Somerset County but on April 21 the new Burgess Rural Living Center will open to the public in Princess Anne and showcase select items from the former museum.

“We at 'American Pickers' continue to take the pandemic very seriously and will be following all guidelines and protocols for safe filming outlined by the state and CDC. Nevertheless, we are excited to continue reaching the many collectors in the area to discuss their years of picking and are eager to hear their memorable stories!”

The “American Pickers” TV show is looking for leads and would love to explore Maryland’s hidden treasure. If you or someone you know has a large, private collection or accumulation of antiques that the pickers can spend the better part of the day looking through, send your name, phone number, location, and description of the collection with photos to: americanpickers@cineflix.com or call 646-493-2184 or visit facebook: @GotAPick.
