Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce Professional Power-Up lunch set for May 9

Posted

For the past eight years, the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce has coordinated the Young Professionals Social for the membership body between ages 21 and 25 to meet at a local location to network and learn from various speakers centered around topics pertinent to business and growth. The group would meet every other month from noon to 1 p.m. for lunch.

The chamber has recently channeled its efforts into revamping this valuable program and opportunity for its members to connect and learn on a regular basis. It invites you to attend this month’s Professional Power-Up session May 9 at the Biggs Museum of American Art (406 Federal St., Dover) from noon to 1. Michael Dudich, Biggs Museum’s director, and his team will be present to share “Careers in the Arts” with all attendees. The CDCC invites you to come and learn something you may have never thought about before, as you meet with the Biggs staff and see what they have to offer the community.

The Biggs Museum of American Art, established in 1993, is home to one of the finest collections of American fine and decorative arts. It always keeps things fresh, with frequently rotating exhibitions throughout the year, tailored to a variety of subjects, demographics and interests. The staff, board of directors and members are passionate about public education of the arts and bringing people together. There is always something new and thought-provoking to see at the museum. Join the Professional Power-Up this May for a glimpse into the allure of one of downtown Dover’s gems.

You won’t want to miss this event. Though the power-up is a monthly series, the topics and speakers change every session. To increase the accessibility of this event, the chamber will alternate each month between online and in-person sessions. This May will be in-person, and June’s session will be online via Zoom. Stay tuned to cdcc.net for updates on this event and more.

Employers: The chamber needs your help in disseminating this monthly event to your employees who you think would benefit from these learning sessions. We need your help in translating the value of attending these sessions to your employees. Encouragement and approval to attend will mean so much more coming from you, as an employer to an employee. This event is a chamber membership benefit.

As you know, investing in your employees is an investment in your company.

Tickets for members are just $5 and $15 for nonmembers. Please bring cash only. Visit cdcc.net or call 302-734-7513 for information. The CDCC is excited for what this event will bring to the community and to offer another opportunity for like-minded individuals to meet, connect, encourage and support each other.
