General Federation of Women’s Clubs Delaware holds annual convention

WILMINGTON — The General Federation of Women’s Clubs Delaware held its 126th annual convention at the Christiana Hilton May 16-18.

General Federation of Women’s Clubs Delaware President Patricia Rodriguez of the Round Table Club of Camden-Wyoming welcomed attendees and presided over the convention which included guest speakers, honors and awards, and sharing of information.

Mitzi Perdue, author and war correspondent, spoke of her efforts to raise money for the clearing of mines in the Ukraine. General Federation of Women’s Clubs Treasurer Becky Wright was a guest at the convention and the featured speaker at the closing banquet.

Bonnie Stone-Fischer of the Laurel New Century Club was selected as the Leadership Education and Development Seminar candidate to the international convention in Kentucky.

Gov. John Carney invited all General Federation of Women’s Clubs Delaware Board members to a meet and greet at his office after the close of convention.

General Federation of Women’s Clubs Delaware is comprised of club members across the state of Delaware and is committed to ‘Living the Volunteer Spirit.’
