SALISBURY — The Wicomico County Council meeting originally scheduled for Jan. 7 has been rescheduled to Thursday, Jan. 9., at 6 p.m., due to inclement weather.
The council will start its meeting in open session at 5 p.m. at the government building in Room 301 before entertaining a vote to go into closed session.
Officials said the purpose of the executive session is to consult with staff, consultants, or other individuals about pending or potential litigation related to Councilmanic Districts, in accordance with Section 3-305(b)(8) of the General Provisions Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland.
Additionally, all public hearings will take place on Jan. 9 as part of the rescheduled legislative session.
Wicomico County Executive Julie Giordano said all government office buildings, convenience centers and ferries will also be closed Jan. 7, although the landfill will open at 9 a.m.
“The safety of our employees and residents is our top priority,” Giordano said. “Please stay off the roads if possible and take precautions to keep yourself and your family safe during this time.”
