PRINCESS ANNE — To kick off 2025, and to help chase away the winter blues, the Somerset County Historical Society is scheduled to host a new event at historic Teackle Mansion.
The Winter Blues evening will feature blues music by Margot & Co., delicious food and cocktails, and the warmth of good company. It promises to be a cozy winter evening at the beautifully decorated historic home.
Guests will have the opportunity to participate in activities, win prizes, and bid on an exceptional array of silent auction items, including a weekend in Williamsburg, a weeklong vacation in Florida, a skipjack sailing adventure and more. Food will include a local oyster bar, in the hearth kitchen, and a generous array of culinary delights.
Cocktails, beer, wine and nonalcoholic beverages will be available and are included in the ticket price. In keeping with the theme, decorations - and even a few of the foods - will be blue.
The Winter Blues event will be held January 25, from 6:00-9:00 p.m., at Teackle Mansion, located at 11736 Mansion Street, in historic Princess Anne, MD. Guests are encouraged to embrace the wintry theme and wear shades of blue.
Winter Blues tickets are $65 per person. Proceeds from the event supports the education mission of the Somerset County Historical Society as well as upkeep of historic properties entrusted to the organization, including Teackle Mansion, the Sarah Martin Done House, and Somerset Choice Station. Tickets are available online at somersetcountyhistoricalsociety.org or Somerset Choice Station, located at 11731 Somerset Avenue, in downtown Princess Anne.
Out-of-town guests are encouraged to make it a weekend and book a room at the historic Washington Hotel, built in the 1700s. The newly-opened hotel is located only 2 blocks away from Teackle Mansion. Sunday brunch at Sugar Water restaurant, located inside the hotel, is included with a Saturday night stay. Sugar Water features locally-sourced food and an incredible brunch menu, including house-cured gravlax, latkes, scrapple, brioche stuffed French toast, apple Dutch baby, and seasonal dishes. Visit sugarwater1744.com to reserve accommodations.
