Letter to the Editor: Trump’s actions deserve more attention than judging Biden goals

Posted

The letter published in the Delaware State News on Jan. 13, with the title “Biden administration’s goals are unrealistic,” contained a list of evaluations and judgments about the Biden administration. All of them were relatively unimportant compared to Donald Trump’s attempted overthrow of the 2020 election.

That “coup” is still in process but now set for 2024, despite Trump losing almost all court lawsuits that he launched to block the electoral votes against him; despite the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection; despite the fake electoral votes certificates sent to the National Archives; and despite that a majority of Americans did not vote for Trump.

It is ironic that, on the same day that Jan. 13 letter was published, the Department of Justice arrested and indicted the founder and many other members of the Oath Keepers for seditious conspiracy in connection with events on Jan. 6. In addition, over 700 other insurrectionists have also been identified and arrested.

I cannot respect a despot wanting to be a tyrant medieval king because he thinks he is entitled to have anything he wants — by using a “heads, I win; tails, you lose” strategy — regardless of how anyone else feels about it.

The worst of the Trumpers are already making progress to rig the 2024 election at two levels. First, the anti-Trump popular votes will get undercounted, and second, if Trump doesn’t get the electoral votes, new electors loyal to Trump will be named.
