DelDOT hosting session on I-95 work

WILMINGTON — The Delaware Department of Transportation will hold a virtual informational session Wednesday on the Interstate 95 rehabilitation project in Wilmington.

Lane restrictions for the project began last week, with construction set to start in early March. Throughout construction, at least one lane in each direction of I-95 will remain open, and ramp closures will be staggered to continuously maintain access in and out of the city.

Planned construction includes the repair of 19 bridges and 11 ramps, removing and replacing the top two inches of concrete on the bridge decks to maintain the integrity of the underlying structural concrete and replacing deteriorating concrete traffic barriers and roadway expansion joints. Major traffic impacts will be limited to two years of the three-year contract.

This session will provide a brief overview of the project and schedule, a recap of work completed to date and an update on planned work through the end of this week. It will be recorded and posted to the project website.

The meeting is at 6 and can be accessed by going to restorethecorridor.com.
