Sipple: Small group of skateboarders may be out of options

Posted

Unfortunately for skateboarders, I don’t think there are many options for them (“Question of the Week: How can your town broaden options for skateboarding and other outdoor activities?”).

It is such a small group of people that it would be hard to get behind spending a large amount of money for a park and maintaining it. What would help is if it became a competitive sport, like Little League, etc. Imagine Caesar Rodney High School vs. Dover High School in skateboarding. Crazy idea? We just had breakdancing in the Olympics!

I hope something can be worked out because I’m all for getting kids outside and off their phones.
